It was on 22nd June 2016 when the official groundbreaking ceremony to commence the building of the repair centre of excellence at St. Michael’s Container Terminal was held. Around 140 guests accepted the invitations sent out by the organisers, ÖBB-INFRA und Innofreight. The groundbreaking ceremony, which at the same time marked the beginning of the future with optimised working conditions and new employment opportunities, was conducted by the Division Manager, Andreas Fuchs, the Project Manager, PNA Dr. Klaus Schneider, the Terminal Manager, Werner Lödl, the Deputy Mayor, Martin Schuchaneg, as well as Innofreight’s General Managers, DI Peter Wanek-Pusset and Bernhard Grentner.
Both the groundbreaking ceremony and the execution of the Cooperation Agreement between the St. Michael’s Container Terminal and Innofreight by Andreas Fuchs and DI Peter Wanek-Pusset respectively confirmed the effective cooperation between both parties involved.
Thus, the St. Michael’s Terminal established itself as the optimal service support centre of the future for the industrial plants in Upper Styria.
The groundbreaking ceremony was followed by a Rail Show during which we presented the modular comprehensive logistics concept that consists of the InnoWaggon and the superstructures tailored specifically to the customer’s needs. The highlight of the Rail Show was the ORE RockTainer with an inscription created especially for this event reading: ‘I’m from Austria’.
The event, which offered an excellent opportunity to meet and discuss interesting issues, passed in a friendly atmosphere.
Innofreight would like to say thank you to all the local and international guests for their attendance and to St. Michael’s Container Terminal for the great and effective cooperation that we have enjoyed so far and are hoping to enjoy in the future.
