In the category ‘medium-sized enterprises’ the international jury awarded Innofreight for its project ‘InnoWaggon’.
With its new InnoWaggon (= an especially light and universally useable container waggon for the transportation of bulk cargo by means of Innofreight’s special containers), it is possible to increase the net loads by 20-30% in comparison to the special waggons that are currently in use.
This is the way to save the environment and to create more space for additional trains using the already existing infrastructure.
At the moment the prototype waggon goes through an approval process. The delivery of the first standard waggon is scheduled for the second quarter of 2014 in the cooperation with OEBB.
