The RockTainer ORE has become an Innofreight classic in recent years. The 30-ft container is used for iron ore, ore pellets, or limestone transports and allows a payload of up to 138 tons per double wagon.

But that doesn’t mean that you can’t keep thinking ahead with tried-and-tested solutions. For Salzgitter Flachstahl, we extensively tested our ore giant from April 2020 to July 2021 and adapted it precisely to the needs of the German steel group.Thanks to the optimizations, adhering fine ores can now be unloaded with minimal loading remains, and the unloading flaps on the side can be opened in pairs or at the same time.

Our InnoWaggon 2×30 ft has also been further developed. Slight design changes have been made for DB Cargo so that the InnoWaggon 2×30 ft can now travel at the maximum permissible speed of 120 km/h instead of 100 km/h when it is empty.

From October 22-27, 2021, the first set was handed over to our partner DB Cargo. On October 28, 2021, the first successful unloading took place in the presence of our team. A total of 58 RockTainer ORE with InnoWagons 2×30 ft rolled out of production brand new and were delivered so far. Two more sets will follow in December 2021 and January 2022. One block train consists of 27 wagons and can transport around 3,700 tons of ore.
