Innofreight – Finalist in the Austrian Climate Protection Award 2008

Out of 543 applications the best projects have been chosen by the expert jury – in the category Ideas and Innovations a project „Climate Protection on Rail" from Innofreight Spedition was awarded with a nomination.

The jury was convinced by the sustainable WoodLogisticsystem with which it is possible to shift transports from road to rail. Increasing traffic volume requires innovative solutions particularly in the environment-sensitive Alpine regions – in this way it was e.g. possible to save 33,000 truck runs or 19,000 CO₂ in wood chips transport from Fügen to Hallein since the transportation shift in 2005.

On 04.11. 4 finalists of each category were chosen through viewer voting – in the category „Ideas and Innovations" company Fronius won with their project hydrogen propulsion for forklift trucks – Congratulations!
