New product for flexible logistics of round and sawn wood

The awarded concept “WoodLogistics” by Innofreight develops on, among others, a flexible application of a universal carrying wagon.
Until now, such wagons (particularly 60’-container-carrying wagon) have been established in this branch through providing the well-known WoodTainers as the efficient bulk cargo wagon. Through the appropriately flexible construction of the wagon with the foldable containers innofold or bulk containers for moisture-sensitive goods (e.g. pellets) it is possible to gain access to further large areas logistically reasonable e.g. by loading return traffic.

These innovations cover basically the bulk cargo area. Thus, the wagon can be used even in the wood transport in the classical sense.
Innofreight has a further innovative possibility developed in order to increase significantly the level of usage of such a wagon and to increase its efficiency in a sustainable way.

Depending on the predominant lengths of the transported wood four or five Innofreight round wood pallets can be put on a 60’-universal carrying wagon. With a low equipment investment a flexible alternative to frequently hardly available, classical wood transporting wagons is won.

The pallets have the railway width and, therefore, offer all advantages of an optimised volume usage as well as stability of modern stanchion wagon. The design of the palletts enables, according to the current need, to take them quickly from the wagon and to preload so that the standing time of the railway is considerably minimized. Moreover, the quick change enables a quick reaction for shifting the wagon from round wood palletts on WoodTainer or innofold and the other way round.

Empty, not used in between pallets are stackable and, thus, place-saving. When 3 pallets are stacked they can be stored on the carrying wagon in an favourable way for return loading.
